A 3K weave on the hitting face — three thousand filaments per tow, tight enough to stay rigid through the smash and hold its shape over a season of hard hitting. It is what gives the ball bite off the strings instead of a dead, muffled contact.
A soft EVA rubber core holds the ball a fraction longer before it leaves the face. You feel more of the shot, you place it more precisely, and long matches cost your elbow and shoulder less than a hard core would.
Teardrop sits between the round and the diamond: the balance point rides higher than a control racket, so there is weight behind the smash, but the sweet spot stays central and forgiving enough to defend with.
